How to Create a New Project
- Click on the Create project button
- Select an organization from the Organization dropdown
- You can only select organizations where you are an Admin or Member
- Fill out the required fields:
- Organization
- Name
- Currency
- Click the Create button
Permission required: You must be an Admin or Member of an organization to create projects. Guests cannot create projects.
How to Switch Between Card and Table View
You can display your projects as cards or in a table format based on your preference.
- Locate the view toggle buttons in the top right corner of the Projects page
- Click the card view icon to display projects as cards
- Click the table view icon to display projects in a table
Tip: Your view preference is saved automatically and will remain active even after navigating away from the Projects page.
How to Filter Projects
Use filters to quickly find specific projects across your organizations.
Filter by Organization
- Click on Filters to display filter options
- Click the Organizations dropdown
- Select one or multiple organizations
Filter by Search Term
- Click on Filters to display filter options
- Enter text in the Search field
The search will match projects by Name, Code, or Description.
Clear Filters
- Click Close on the filters panel
Note: Your active filters remain applied when navigating between pages, making it easy to work with filtered results.
How to Mark a Project as Favorite
Mark frequently used projects as favorites to keep them easily accessible at the top of your project list.
- Hover over a project card or row
- Click the star icon that appears
- In card view: upper right corner of the card
- In table view: to the right of the row
The project will move to the top of your project list with a filled star icon.
Remove from Favorites
- Hover over the favorited project
- Click the filled star icon to remove it from favorites
Synced across devices: Your favorite projects are synced to your account and will appear on all devices where you sign in.
How to Accept or Reject Invitations
When you're invited to an organization or project, you'll receive an invitation that you can accept or reject.
View Your Invitations
- Sign in to Tactplan
- Look for the Invitations section at the top of your dashboard
Each invitation card will show:
- The role you're being invited as (Admin, Member, Manager, Planner, or Viewer)
- The organization or project name
Accept an Invitation
- Locate the invitation card
- Click the checkmark (✓) button
You'll immediately gain access to the organization or project with the assigned role.
Reject an Invitation
- Locate the invitation card
- Click the close (×) button
The invitation will be removed from your list and the person who invited you will be notified.
Organization and Project Invitations: When invited to a project, you may also receive an invitation to join the related organization as a Guest if you're not already a member.
Understanding Invitation Types
| Invitation Type | Access Level |
|---|---|
| Organization - Admin | Full administrative access to the organization, including user management and settings |
| Organization - Member | Can create and manage projects within the organization |
| Organization - Guest | Limited access, typically assigned when invited to specific projects |
| Project - Manager | Can manage project settings and schedules |
| Project - Planner | Can create and edit schedules within the project |
| Project - Viewer | Can view project schedules but cannot edit |
Subscription Management
When an organization's subscription expires, access to its projects becomes restricted.
Identifying Expired Organizations
Projects from expired organizations are displayed with:
- Grey, italicized text
- Disabled state (cannot be opened)
What Happens When You Try to Access an Expired Project
- Click on a project from an expired organization
- A dialog appears with the message: "Your subscription has ended, please contact info@tactplan.com"
Creating New Projects
When creating a new project, expired organizations will not appear in the Organization dropdown menu.
