Milestone Display in Schedule Views
Milestones are displayed differently depending on which schedule view you're using:
Takt Time View
Milestones appear as a diamond shape with the name displayed to the right. When "Show milestone line" is enabled, a vertical line extends across the milestone location and any child locations based on the location precision level.
Tip: Milestone lines help you visualize key deadlines across multiple locations at once.
Flowline View
Milestones appear as a vertical line with the name positioned to the left of the line. The "Show milestone line" toggle does not affect the appearance in this view.
Gantt View
Milestones appear as a diamond shape with the name displayed to the left. The "Show milestone line" toggle does not affect the appearance in this view.
Network View
Milestones are shown as subtasks within the network diagram. The "Show milestone line" toggle does not affect the appearance in this view.
Table View
Milestones are displayed as tasks in the table structure. The "Show milestone line" toggle does not affect the appearance in this view.
Grid View
Milestones are shown as subtasks in the grid structure. The "Show milestone line" toggle does not affect the appearance in this view.
Best Practice: Use Takt Time or Flowline views to get the best visual representation of milestones and their impact across your project timeline.
Milestone Linking Limitations
Milestones have certain limitations compared to regular tasks. They cannot be linked to:
- Quantities
- Costs
- Resources
- Progress tracking
Note: Milestones will not appear in this list, as they cannot be linked to quantities.
Note: Milestones will not appear in this list, as they cannot be linked to costs.
Why this matters: Milestones are designed to mark key dates and deadlines in your schedule, not to track work quantities or costs. Use regular tasks when you need to track resources, costs, quantities, or progress.
