How to Export Resources
- Navigate to Setup in the side navigation and select Resources.
- Click the Export button in the toolbar.
- Choose one of the following export options:
- Copy to clipboard — copies the data to your clipboard. A confirmation message will briefly appear at the bottom of the screen.
- Save to file — downloads a CSV file to your browser's default Downloads folder.
- Open Excel or Google Sheets and paste or import the data:
- If you used Copy to clipboard, paste with Ctrl+V or right-click and select Paste.
- If you used Save to file, open or import the CSV file directly in your spreadsheet application.
Tip: After pasting or importing, verify that the column headers, values, and data formats look correct before making any edits.
How to Import Resources
- Navigate to Setup in the side navigation and select Resources.
- Click the Export button and select Copy to clipboard to get a correctly formatted template of your current data.
- Open your spreadsheet application, paste the data, and make your desired changes.
- Copy the updated data to your clipboard.
- Back in Tactplan, click the Import button in the toolbar. The Import dialog will open.
- Paste your data into the dialog by either:
- Clicking inside the paste area and pressing Ctrl+V, or
- Clicking Click here to paste from clipboard.
- Review the data in the preview. To compare your pasted data with the raw source, click Raw data.
- Click Import to apply the changes.
Data Validation - Field Requirements
When importing, make sure your data meets the following requirements. Invalid values will be flagged in the import dialog before the data is applied.

|---|---|
| ID | Must be a valid ID. Leave blank for new rows. |
| Name | Required. Cannot be left empty. |
| Code | Must be a valid field value. |
| Color | Must be a hex color code (e.g., #FF5733). |
| Capacity | Must be a whole number (no decimals). |
| Supplier | Optional. Must match an existing supplier name if provided. |
Tip: Use the Raw data view to catch any formatting issues before committing to the import.
