Setting Location Precision
- Open the task details panel.
- Navigate to the Locations tab.
- Click the location precision dropdown to select a different level (e.g., Project, Building, or Level).
- Review the updated location selection, noting that locations without children at the selected level will be automatically deselected.
Note: When decreasing precision to a higher level, only locations with existing children will remain selected. When increasing precision to a lower level, only locations with selected parents will remain available.
Reordering Locations by Drag and Drop
- Open the task details panel and go to the Locations tab.
- Click and drag a location to a new position within the same level.
- Release the location to update the sequence.
- To move multiple locations at once, select them using Ctrl + Click or Shift + Click, then drag to the desired position.
Reversing Location Sequence
- Open the task details panel and navigate to the Locations tab.
- Select multiple locations in a continuous sequence by holding Shift while clicking.
- Right-click on any selected location.
- Choose Reverse location sequence from the context menu.
Note: The reverse function only works on continuous sequences. Discontinuous selections will show this option as disabled.
Splitting Tasks by Location
Using the Location Panel
- Open the task details panel and go to the Locations tab.
- Click the Split subtask icon in the toolbar.
- Select the locations you want to separate into a new subtask.
- Click the Finish splitting subtask icon (checkmark) in the toolbar.
Using a Schedule View
- Navigate to your desired schedule view (Takt Time, Flowline, Gantt, or Table).
- Right-click on a location task.
- Select Split tasks from the context menu.
The task will be divided into subtasks named "Task Name-1" and "Task Name-2" (or the next available number). The new subtask inherits all settings and linked resources from the original task.
Merging Subtasks
Using the Location Panel
- Open the task details panel and navigate to the Locations tab.
- Click the Merge subtasks icon in the toolbar.
- Select the subtasks you want to merge by checking their boxes.
- Click the Finish merging subtasks icon (checkmark) in the toolbar.
Using a Schedule View
- Select multiple related subtasks in a schedule view by holding Ctrl while clicking.
- Hold Ctrl and right-click on one of the selected subtasks.
- Choose Merge selected tasks from the context menu.
The selected subtasks will merge into the first subtask, preserving its settings and resources. Any progress added to individual locations is retained after merging.
Resetting to Location Order
- Open the task details panel and go to the Locations tab.
- Click the More menu (three dots icon).
- Select Reset to location order.
This resets the task's location sequence to match the order defined in Setup > Locations. You can also apply this to multiple subtasks at once by selecting them before accessing the More menu.
Note: This option is disabled when tasks have linked quantities.
Copying Location Sequence from Another Task
- Open the task details panel and navigate to the Locations tab.
- Click the More menu (three dots icon).
- Select Copy sequence from.
- Choose a task from the list of tasks with the same precision level.
The location sequence is updated to match the selected task. For bulk editing, select multiple subtasks before using this option.
Note: This feature requires all selected tasks to have the same location precision level.
Copying Locations from Another Task
- Open the task details panel and go to the Locations tab.
- Click the More menu (three dots icon).
- Select Copy locations from.
- Choose a subtask from the list of subtasks with the same precision level.
The selected locations are copied to your current task. This can also be applied to multiple subtasks simultaneously.
Note: All selected tasks must have the same precision level for this option to be available.
Adding and Delete Locations
Using Checkboxes
- Open the task details panel and navigate to the Locations tab.
- Check or uncheck location boxes to add or delete them from the subtask.

To add or delete all sublocations under a parent, check or uncheck the parent location checkbox.
Using the Context Menu
- Open the task details panel and go to the Locations tab.
- Select multiple locations by holding Ctrl or Shift while clicking.
- Right-click on any selected location.
- Choose Add locations or Delete locations from the context menu.
Moving Locations to a Specific Position
- Open the task details panel and navigate to the Locations tab.
- Select one or more locations at the same level as the task's location precision.
- Right-click on any selected location.
- Choose Move to position from the context menu.
- Enter the desired position number in the dialog box.
- Click OK to apply the change.
Note: This option is only available when all selected locations are at the same precision level as the task.
Copying Split Configuration
- Open the task details panel and go to the Locations tab.
- Click the More menu (three dots icon).
- Select Copy split from.
- Choose a subtask from the list with the same precision level.
The split configuration is applied to your task, creating the same location groupings as the source task. This works for bulk editing multiple subtasks as well.
Note: If tasks have dependencies between them, the copy operation may fail to prevent scheduling conflicts. A notification will appear in the lower right corner if this occurs.
Bulk Editing Location Precision
- Select multiple subtasks with the same precision level in a schedule view.
- Open the task details panel and navigate to the Locations tab.
- Change the location precision dropdown to the desired level.
All selected tasks will update to the new precision level, with automatic deselection of locations that don't meet the new criteria.
Filtering Locations by Search
- Open the task details panel and go to the Locations tab.
- Type a search term in the search field at the top.
- View the filtered results matching your search.
- Enter multiple search terms separated by spaces to search for multiple locations.
Splitting Multiple Tasks at Once
- Navigate to a schedule view (Takt Time, Flowline, Gantt, or Table).
- Select multiple location tasks by holding Ctrl while clicking.
- Right-click on any selected task.
- Choose Split tasks from the context menu.
All selected subtasks will be split at their respective selected locations.
